Founder Izzat Kamaruddin returns to Georgetown after working in KL's startup scene. Frustrated by Penang's outdated car rental options — no online booking, hidden fees everywhere — he sketches the first version of Bluvo in a Lebuh Chulia café.
Bluvo goes live with a fleet of 8 Myvis operating from Georgetown. Within three months we hit 200 bookings. Word spreads fast among Penang's travel community — especially on TikTok.
We open our first official counter at Penang International Airport. The fleet grows to 60 cars including SUVs and our first premium vehicle — a BMW 3 Series. We also launch our WhatsApp-first customer support, which customers love.
Bluvo adds its first electric vehicles — the BYD Atto 3 — and expands to 5 locations across Penang Island and Seberang Perai. We're named one of Penang Monthly's top 10 local businesses to watch.
Today, Bluvo operates 18 pick-up and drop-off locations across Penang, with plans to expand to Kedah and Perak by end of the year. We remain proudly based in Penang — and always will be.
